Front Vintage

Undercoat not covering furniture ready for painting? Help!?
I have picked up a gorgeous bow front vintage bedside table with one drawer and 2 shelves for my daughters room but it needs to be white not the vanished and stain it is. I sanded back all the vanish and most the stain. Got advice from Bunnings (hardware) about the right paint to use. She gave me an undercoat for wood and then a semi gloss white paint. I did one coat of undercoat and then one coat of semi gloss (with the intention of another) but it is all streaked pink. What has happened and is there a better once over undercoat to eliminate this so I can paint it semmi gloss white? Oh the products were water based as I hate having to clean up brushes from oil based ones (but was not given the choice at Bunnings)
Thanks so much!
Hello, You want to use a stain killing primer such as Kilz or Gripper. These products are available at Home Depot, Lowes etc. A prime coat with either one of these products will take care of your problem. Good Luck
